Following the massive success of "Wispies"—one of the most comfortable and flattering strip lashes known—Ardell has done it again. The brand set all alarm bells ringing by releasing new colorful and beautifully crafted palettes, as well as a must-have limited edition masterpiece, better known as an eyelash lookbook.
After trying and experimenting with several of their current (and very affordable) launches, this is what I found.
Looks to Kill & Defined Eyes
From a personal experience, I've found that a versatile palette is the product that I'll always gravitate towards most. Ideally, the goal is to create both a day and night time look without having to scout my makeup bag.
A couple of days ago, I uploaded a makeup tutorial to Facebook (see it here), where I used Ardell's Looks to Kill palette. As you might have seen, each of the three shades glided on very smoothly, not to mention that blending happened effortlessly. The formula behind these pigments is quite intense. I recommend dusting off your brush before application.
As for longevity, the results are quite impressive. I did, however, use a good primer to prevent creasing. The palette also comes with two built-in creamy lipsticks. If you're interested, the purchase could be made at Sally Beauty Supply for $14.99, a great deal considering that you're getting eyes and lip all in one.
Curious about the faux mink lashes that are as good as the real ones?
Cruelty Free Lashes That'll Work Just As Good
The futuristic approach that involves conceptualizing and crafting new methods in the beauty industry, resulted in a cruelty free product offering volume and length. Yes, faux mink lashes are here and you have to get your hands on them! Here's why!
I have natural straight lashes, and curling them is not an option as I do notice fallout. For me, a good set of strip lashes should have curled, uneven hairs. Ardell's limited edition Faux Mink Lashes brings eight pairs to choose from. Most of which are quite long (you'll notice how these open up your eyes upon application).
Before gluing each lash on, make sure to trim them on the edges so that they fit your eye. Start from the end corner (where the longest part is). Don't cut the shorter end as they won't look as natural. As for glue, the kit does bring a mini DUO in white. I personally prefer the dark glue—it dries without any white streaks, and blends in perfectly with my eyeliner and mascara.
This limited edition kit is sold for $27.99 at Ulta.
