Affordable & Effective Drugstore Products For Women With Acne

Breakouts are frustrating! Take that from someone who’s had to cope with acne ever since puberty. Fortunately, I’ve met amazing dermatologists who’ve helped me erase stubborn pimples from my face and body. Which is why, I’ve always been extremely careful with the beauty products I use. And to better my skin, I began to pay close attention to what was causing my breakouts. As it turned out, drugstore foundations were among the main cause. But it wasn’t until recently that I gave affordable foundations, glosses, and makeup removers (among other drugstore goodies!) a second chance.
Ahead, take a look at 4 of my favorite products that are not only affordable, but really good for your skin.
Garnier's Micellar Cleansing Water

Whether you’re in the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions, or to simply grab a bite, treat your face to a refreshing end of the day. For the very best results, soak a cotton ball with Micellar Water and dab and drag the product upwards (gently!) until your makeup melts away. Right after, wash your face and follow with a super intensive moisturizer that’ll translate to an everlasting glow in the morning.
My experience: This product is not dry nor oily. However, I do recommend using it before washing your face to prevent any chemicals from staying on your skin, therefore, causing acne.
L'Oréal Paris' Infallible Paints

If you wake up every morning to take a shower, blow dry your hair, and contemplate whether to apply a matte or glossy lipstick, you’re not alone. For me, a good routine consists of taking care of my skin. And as someone who has extremely dry skin, I stay away from anything that's over-drying. For example, I don’t like matte products -- especially on the lips. This was until the day I came across L’Oreal’s Infallible Lip Stains! What I loved most about them was how they applied glossy and, gradually as the shine began to fade, the color became a matte stain that barely even transferred. And so, not only are these colorful lip products affordable, but they’re also a really nice way to change up your everyday makeup routine.
My experience: Longevity results will vary depending on the shade you use. For instance, by wearing the velvety red lip stain I noticed that the product lasted for more than 8 hours. However, the purplish shade doesn’t last more than two hours. As for the stain, it gradually disappeared within that time frame.
L'Oréal Paris' Infallible Total Coverage Foundation

For most women, their skin is left craving more than just a good BB cream or serum throughout the day. Adding a full coverage foundation could even out your complexion and hide imperfections (who doesn't love this!?). L’Oreal’s Infallable foundation blurs out blemishes and will certainly give you an even canvas to apply concealer, blush and, of course, highlighter (goooo Champagne pop!).
My experience: This is perhaps one of the best foundations I’ve ever tried! The formula is amazing, and even though it’s on the matte side, it doesn’t feel heavy or dry on my already super dry skin! The coverage is super good, especially if you have hyperpigmentation, better know as dark acne scars.
As always, I hope my review helps you. Feel free to send me an e-mail with any questions you may have regarding beauty products. Stay in touch.
